ABOUT THIS BOOK
Vi befinder os i malerstuerne på Den Kongelige Pocelainsfabrik i København i den spændende brydningstid mellem rokoko og Louis XVI i slutningen af 1700-tallet. Det blåmalede porcelæn har vundet stor popularitet i Danmark først i kraft af inspiration fra porcelæn fra Kina og siden via de blåmalede stel fra bl.a. Meissen i Tyskland. De danske stel Musselmønster og Blå blomst blev hurtigt populære, først hos adelen og senere i det voksende borgerskab.

Med baggrund i en mangeårig interesse for det gamle porcelæn og samlervirksomhed i mere end 20 år er det gennem intensive studier af blåmalernes arbejdsbøger og andet arkivmateriale lykkedes forfatteren at identificere et stort antal malersignaturer. Dette kombineret med en omfattende og systematisk tekst samt et enestående billedmateriale giver læseren mulighed for at identificere eget porcelæn fra perioden.

Nyt Nordisk Forlag har tidligere udgivet Kongeligt Porcelæn 1820-1925 af samme forfatter, som tager tråden op, hvor nærværende bog slutter beretningen om det blåmalede porcelæns historie.
